FadeShield was introduced in 2015 by Sunrox Brand. It is a synthetic performance fabric created to handle indoor and outdoor upholstery for both residential and commercial areas. These fabrics are woven from a proprietary polyolefin fiber that has been specially developed to provide the utmost durability, so you'll never have to be concerned about everyday wear and tear. Polyolefin is a synthetic fiber that is inherently resistant to abrasion, pilling, staining, mold/mildew, odor, and fading. These superior qualities ensure that all FadeShield fabrics exhibit the same impressive attributes.

Polyolefin fabric has a distinguished scientific history. It was first manufactured in Italy in 1957. A talented chemist named Giulio Natta was the first to formulate olefin fibers suitable for use in many textile applications. Natta and his partner Karl Ziegler were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1963 for their development of a method of transforming polyolefins into fiber using titanium as a catalyst. The FadeShield performance fabrics carry basic features:

Solution-dyed synthetic fibers for higher color saturation; High abrasion resistance for increased toughness; Water, mold, and mildew resistance; UV resistance to prevent fading; Stain resistance and easy cleanability; Does not transmit static charge.

FadeShield is inherently stain resistant, and it also has a stain-resistant coating for increased protection.

Fade Resistant | UV Resistant FadeShield polyolefin takes the high level of performance, as they are infused with antimicrobial silver ion technology and can withstand 5 years of lightfast UV fade resistance - at least five times more UV protection than regular polyolefin. It's solution-dyed to make sure that each color is deeply ingrained in every fiber for continued vibrancy, even after heavy use.

Abrasion Resistance | Durability When it comes to choosing a fabric for an upholstery application, it needs to hold up to life's daily wear and tear: being sat on, napped on, walked on. A fabric's durability is measured in what's known as "double rubs". FadeShield fabrics boast over 50,000 double rubs, meaning that their ability is seriously impressive and unparalleled when compared.
